Joaquin Marcelo, Carmen Mota's son, was born and grew up in an environment marked by love of Spanish dance. From a young age, his mother's dancing profession permitted him to know closely all the secrets of the world of dance and little by little he was seduced by this art.
When he was 8 years old, he suffered a virus that left him completely deaf. After this terrible incident, Joaquin Marcelo thought he could not dance. However, the passion for carrying out his dream gave him the strength to continue fighting. At 21 years of age, he joined Carmen Mota's Company and studied flamenco with recognised masters (Raul Martinez and El Farruco). Three months later he debuted as a dancer and, in a short time, he managed to win for himself a place among the outstanding figures of the company.
Joaquin Marcelo did not feel the vibrations produced by the steps of his companions, since the stage floors were excessively hard. For this reason, he developed the rhythm in his interior. This shows the strength and tenacity of the artist who, far from giving up, developed other senses to make his vocation a reality.
In his professional career, the performances that he carried out for different Spanish TV channels (TVE1 and Telecinco) should be emphasised, as well as his participation in special TV programs that have been transmitted worldwide.
